About Us
David and Winnifred moved to Polinago in 2011 to fulfil a long held dream of Winnifred’s to live in Italy. Native English speakers, Winnifred can speak good Italian and some Dutch, while David is learning Italian.
Winnifred has had a varied career and loves working with people and had experience in both the commercial and non for profit sectors. She enjoys showcasing her new country to visitors and likes cooking, and is happy to demonstrate how to cook Italian dishes. David is a specialist in electronics and passionate about classic cars and the proud owner of a 1984 Porsche 928S2 . They both love living in Polinago and have become very much a part of the local community.
They enjoy hosting and meeting people of all nationalities from all over the world and have both visited and lived in a number of countries. For company they have Marty their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and two Italian cats Carpi and Poli.
Sadly they have learned that not all builders are trustworthy and the re-construction of their stone farm house in the countryside just out of Polinago, is currently at a standstill. They are still optimistic and have commenced running Cherry House B&B from a large house within the town. Hopefully building will re-commence in the future. Meanwhile they will continue to enjoy living in Polinago and sharing their local knowledge and experience with you.
