Museums

Below is an initial list of the car and bike museums in the tiny triangle between Bologna and Modena, fittingly defined as “Terra dei Motori” (Motor Valley).

Ferrari Museum

The Ferrari Museum was officially opened on Enzo Ferrari’s birthday February 18th, in 1990, a year and a half after the founder had passed away, but has been welcoming enthusiasts from all over the world to Maranello to celebrate the Prancing Horse legend since the end of the 1980s. The Galleria Ferrari became the company’s official museum in 1995 and since 2011 has been known simply as the Ferrari Museum. Around 240,000 visitors a year pass through its doors and view its superb collections.

The Museum is divided into themed areas designed to fulfil the expectations of enthusiasts of all kinds, from motor racing fans to expert historic car enthusiasts and even those who admire the Prancing Horse as an icon of Italian design, exclusivity and technology. Enzo Ferrari Museum

Lamborghini Museum

The Lamborghini Museum is located in Sant’Agata Bolognese, which is 1.5 hours from us.
The Museum opened in 2001 as a sign of Automobili Lamborghini’s commitment to celebrate, with the new millennium, a new breed of dream cars. The Lamborghini MurciĆ©lago was shown at the Museum first, against a backdrop of other precious Lamborghini treasures from the past, a collection which is nowadays admired by enthusiasts coming from all over the world.
The Museum also marks Lamborghini’s recognition for the support from devoted and passionate Lamborghini fans, who contribute every day to keep its legend alive.

Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum

An impressive journey through Ferruccio Lamborghini's audacious dreams and his best creations, starting from the first tractor to the most exclusive sports cars ever.

Ducatti Museum

When, in December 2001, Livio Lodi took over from Marco Montemaggi as Curator of the Ducati Museum, he knew that this would be no mere job but, rather, a mission: to educate new generations of "Ducatisti" and allow the old "Ducatiani" to relive the emotions of rediscovering the history of this "small" company.

That's no easy task, as the word "museum" can be off-putting.
A museum is normally thought of as a cold place for the plain storage of ancient artefacts, and in this modern era, in which change is constant, far-reaching and often sudden, the "luxury" of remembering the past is not always permissible.
Not so for Ducati. This Bologna-based firm has made tradition a key component of both its corporate image and its entire way of relating to the global motorcycling community. Tradition, of course, sometimes has to adapt to the times, but in competition and on roads all over the world Ducati has always

Panini Museum

The Museum displays some unique pieces of Maserati Cars Collection of Umberto Panini, and it’s one of the finest collections dedicated to the Maserati. In Cittanova, a typical rustic town in the surroundings of Modena, are kept the cars that recall the most important steps in the history of the “Trident”, painstakingly assembled during the years.
Founded by the brothers Maserati and maintained by Omar Orsi, the collection remained intact until today, and now it is edited by West (owned by the Panini family) and includes 23 cars and 3 sets regularly restoration.

Pagani Automobili Modena

Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani Automobili celebrates the record at the Top Gear Test Track achieved by the 2012 multiple Car of the Year Award winning Pagani Huayra. The factory is 1 hour from us.
Pagani Automobili is pleased to welcome visitors at its Atelier (factory) in San Cesario sul Panaro for a guided factory tour. Due to the high demand we ask to book your visit by sending a request by email or contacting us by phone.

National Auto Museum

The National Automobile Museum has reopened after a radical, large-scale transformation of its contents and its building. The museum is located in Torino, which is 3.5 hours from us.

The Museum has a new look, thanks to a modern, innovative design: this is not just a simple architectural renovation, but a new amenity redesigned to be placed among the most cutting-edge of European cultural centres. It’s a museum that can attract to it not only an audience of specialists but of young people, families and students and is a space for all the local people, who will find in the rebuilt complex a place where they can meet and socialize.
